In 1929, to address the educational needs of the community's children, a primary school for Classes 1–5 was started and named 'Punitha Mariyannai Thodakka Palli' (Holy Mary's Primary School) in honor of Our Lady. In 1939, it was upgraded to a middle school covering Classes 1–8. The school currently operates in the St. Mary's Mahal building which was opened on June 17, 1995.

St. Mary's Mahal was started with a foundation stone in 2003. Fr. A.S. Raja raised the building to first floor level despite many challenges. Through the tireless work of Fr. P.K. Anthoni Dacklas, St. Mary's Mahal was fully completed and opened on Our Lady's Feast Day, August 15, 2013 by Bishop Ivan Ambrose.
